Changes in the GMC Sierra 2500 HD for 2025
The GMC 2500 HD now offers Kalamazoo, MI drivers new 20-inch two-tone wheels and an available Universal Vehicle Module that's designed for up-fitters. The 2025 version of this truck comes with standard cruise control and a trailer brake controller on all trims. Adaptive cruise control is a standard feature on the AT4 and Denali trims and the SLE model comes with a standard 120-volt bed-mounted power outlet and two USB ports. In addition, the SLE now offers Hudsonville, MI buyers the versatile MultiPro tailgate as an available upgrade. Front and rear parking sensors are available on the base Pro and SLE trims as part of the Pro Safety Plus package.
Engines and performance
The standard engine in the new 2025 GMC 2500 HD is a 6.6-liter gasoline-powered V8 that's managed by a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission. The resulting output is 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, metrics that Holland, MI and Kentwood, MI drivers will appreciate. There's also a muscular upgrade: A 6.6-liter turbocharged Duramax® turbodiesel V8 that's good for 470 horsepower and an impressive 975 pound-feet of torque. Conventional towing capacity in the GMC Sierra 2500 is 14,500 pounds and that number rises to 20,000 pounds with dually diesel models equipped with the Max Trailering package.
