What's new for 2025 in the GMC Sierra 3500 HD?

The heaviest of the heavy-duty GMC Sierra trucks, the Sierra 3500 HD, now offers Kalamazoo, MI truck drivers a new two-tone 20-inch wheel design and an available Universal Wheel Module that's designed for up-fitting these versatile trucks. Cruise control is now a standard feature and so is a Trailer Brake Controller. Front and Rear Park Assist is now included with Pro Safety Plus, Sierra HD Pro Safety Plus and Fleet Convenience packages.

The AT4 and Denali trims now come standard with adaptive cruise control and the SLT trim has a standard instrument panel with a 120-volt power outlet. The innovative MultiPro tailgate is now available for Hudsonville, MI and Holland, MI buyers on the SLE model. Dealer-installed rear wheelhouse liners are available and come standard on Denali and Denali ultimate Dual Rear-Wheel models.

Performance options

The standard engine in the 2025 GMC Sierra 3500 HD is a 6.6-liter V8 that's teamed up with a proven Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. The gasoline engine gives Kentwood, MI and Benton Harbor, MI drivers an output of 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. The available upgrade is a Duramax® turbocharged diesel V8 that you can count on for 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. The maximum conventional towing capacity is 20,000 pounds with the diesel engine and a conventional hitch. If you get the fifth-wheel configuration, that number climbs to an incredible 31,800 pounds.
